It’s not that anything is particularly hard, I just want to make some important notes/highlights for you. ![]() You know how earlier I said buttercream is usually made w/ 3 ingredients? Well, this variety is also made w/ 5 ingredients but instead of powdered sugar, we are using sweetened condensed milk! Most simple recipes are indeed simple, but there’s also a little bit of pressure bc the recipe may be a little less forgiving. So if you look at the origins of Lechera, which isn’t called Lechera, that’s just the brand (habit, ya know?) sweetened condensed milk originates from France but I relate sweetened condensed milk w/ Mexican flavors because my grandmother, aunts, & mom used it very often in Mexican bakes or desserts. ![]() Whether that’s by sharing traditional Mexican dishes just as my parents taught me or by putting a spin on classic “American” dishes, I want to try it! But really, what is American? That’s a whole different convo we don’t have to get into right at this second. One of my greatest hopes of this blog is to highlight Mexican food, ingredients, & flavors. But a Lechera, sweetened condensed milk buttercream? Now, that’s special. I will probably put out a simple vanilla buttercream in the near future but there are lots of those recipes online already. Combining these 3 ingredients gets you a buttercream frosting, for sure. Trust.īuttercream frosting for the most part is a few simple ingredients: powdered sugar, butter, vanilla. Halve the recipe for a single round cake, 20 23cm / 8 9. 2 x 15.25cm / 6 cake pans 25 27 minutes, only make half a batch. Move bottom pan up and bake for another 2 minutes then remove. Actually, not any of my frosting recipes on here. Bake top 2 pans for 21 minutes, remove from oven. Here are some of the things I am usually not a big fan about buttercream:
